Bill Knable brings over three decades of executive leadership and operational excellence to his role as Chief Executive Officer of Grand Traverse Plastics (GTP). Since taking the helm, Bill has driven a transformative growth strategy centered on advanced automation, scientific molding principles, and an unwavering commitment to zero-defect execution. Under his leadership, GTP has solidified its position as an elite Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive partner—highlighted by securing back-to-back GM Supplier of the Year awards in 2024 and 2025 (reaching GTP’s 6th overall win, an honor reserved for the top 0.1% of suppliers globally).

Throughout his career, Bill has led diverse, multi-million-dollar manufacturing and technology enterprises spanning automotive, industrial, and consumer sectors. A proven strategist in global supply chain expansion, he previously spearheaded international growth initiatives that included establishing greenfield operations and engineering offices across China and California. At GTP, Bill continues to diversify the company's product portfolio—expanding beyond under-hood and functional powertrain plastics into technical fluid management, water bottle assemblies, and pressure relief valves.

Bill holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and proudly served in the U.S. Army. His leadership philosophy combines military-grade discipline and accountability with a deep dedication to local craftsmanship and team empowerment.
