GTP Wins Sixth General Motors Supplier of the Year Award

WILLIAMSBURG, MI — May 22, 2026 — Grand Traverse Plastics Corp. (GTP), a premier leader in technical injection molding, has been named a 2025 General Motors Supplier of the Year. This prestigious accolade marks the sixth time GTP has received the Supplier of the Year distinction.

Central to this achievement is a deep culture of Collaboration. Under the leadership of CEO Bill Knable, who took the helm three years ago, GTP has secured back-to-back Supplier of the Year awards for two of those three years. This consecutive streak underscores a period of intensified engineering intimacy with GM’s technical teams, working hand-in-hand to validate complex architectures, streamline product launches, and de-risk global supply chains through Tier N resiliency, our local-for-local commitment.

"Winning this award for the sixth time—and achieving back-to-back recognition during my three years with the company—is a true testament to the power of alignment and mutual trust," said Bill Knable, CEO of Grand Traverse Plastics. "GM’s theme of 'Amplify' perfectly mirrors our own mission at GTP. By combining our 46 years of manufacturing heritage with an aggressive focus on technical intimacy and joint problem-solving, we are able to amplify our impact on the future of mobility. This honor belongs to our entire Williamsburg team, whose relentless dedication to zero-defect execution makes true collaboration with a world-class OEM like General Motors possible."

GM’s 34th annual Supplier of the Year and Overdrive awards recognized 103 suppliers spanning 14 countries. These suppliers, representing the top 0.1 percentile, delivered outstanding performance, partnership and innovation in support of GM’s global operations.  Awardees were selected by a global GM team based on performance across key categories such as safety, innovation, execution, resilience and customer support, along with their alignment to GM’s core values and strategic priorities.

“Supplier of the Year is one of those key moments our whole team looks forward to every year because it highlights the partnerships behind every vehicle we build. The results our suppliers deliver throughout the entire product development cycle are central to our ability to deliver world-class vehicles to our customers. When our suppliers, such as GTP, lean in with us on new technology and flawless execution, we can move faster, compete harder and unlock more value across the entire supply chain.” — Shilpan Amin, Senior Vice President, Global Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, General Motors

As a multi-year recipient, GTP continues to position its Northern Michigan infrastructure as a low-risk, high-capability anchor for the domestic automotive supply chain, ensuring unparalleled operational stability and engineering validation for decades to come.
